Utku Biroğlu: Versatile Artist, Producer, and Musician

Utku Biroğlu, born in 1989 in Paris, the capital of France, permanently returned to Izmir in 1996, where he experienced a childhood rich in cultural diversity. After completing his education in Izmir, he worked as a professional animator in leading tourist centers (Antalya, Bodrum, Çeşme, Fethiye) between 2004-2010, honing his talent in the stage and entertainment industry and his ability to engage with the audience.

Transition to Professional Music Career

Ending his tourism career in 2010 and bringing his entertainment sector experience to various organizations in Istanbul, Utku Biroğlu returned to his hometown of Izmir in 2012 to lay the foundations of his music career. He made a name for himself by performing at many venues in the city with the cover band COSY, which he formed with İdil Taneri, Umut Yumurtacı, and Murat Güçlü in İzmir Alsancak.

In 2015, the artist left COSY and formed the band Lapsus with Açelya Sakarya, Hüseyin Balcı, and Ozan Kurt. With this band, he continued cover performances and began showcasing his first original compositions. With Lapsus, he carried out a series of successful concerts in many cities, primarily in Izmir.

Production Power: KU2 PRODUCTION and ARGO Collaboration

A turning point in the artist’s career came in 2014 when he established his own studio named KU2 PRODUCTION in Göztepe, Izmir. In this studio, he reinforced his identity as a producer and arranger in the music industry by recording and arranging with various artists.

Between the years 2017-2020, being part of Gazapizm’s orchestra, one of Turkey’s most important Hip-Hop figures, became one of the biggest proofs of Utku Biroğlu’s musical proficiency and reputation in the industry. He also played an active role in various vocal and instrumental recordings within ARGO Izmir.

Journey Between Genres and New Projects

Utku Biroğlu proved his versatility in his career with different music groups:

1. Bambaşka: This lo-fi alternative band he formed with his friend Murat Güçlü from COSY stands out with its minimalist and experimental sounds and continues its active work.

1. Bilader: In 2020, together with his brother Umut Biroğlu, he brought to life the Bilader project, which they had dreamed of for many years and created a totally unique Hip-Hop Reggae-oriented sound. Bilader is on its way to carving an original place in the Turkish scene with new songs and music videos.

Since 2014, Utku Biroğlu has continued to work tirelessly with his solo singles and albums, showcasing his production skills in his own studio, as well as continuing to produce works in a wide range of music through his stage and group work. The artist stands out as one of the most notable names in the music world with his unique sound and productivity.
